Front Springs And U-Bolts

Continuing with the suspension you next inspect the front springs. The specific items you will address include:

  1. The spring leaves themselves
  2. The U-Bolts
  3. The Mounting Brackets

Tip: {CB} {SD} {MH}

Note: Pictured is the front bracket (3). You must address both it and the rear bracket (not shown).

“These are the leaf springs. I am checking that none of the leaves are shifted, Cracked Or Broken. Mounting brackets attach them to the frame both front and rear. There should be no Sign Of Damage to the brackets and no Missing Hardware. Also, the u-bolts that attach the springs to the axle appear to be intact and properly tightened.”
